Last Season "Leftovers"

Just curious if anyone sees interesting stuff after the season. I still run cameras until early summer when they are more at risk of getting stolen that actually giving me an idea of what might be hanging around in September.

Recently I saw a small buck that still had an antler in almost April. I've never seen antlers in the past since mid-February.

Also saw a doe that seemed to be "surviving" despite an apparent shot through the high chest and a big slash across her hip by what must have been a broadhead.

I seen a few still carrying in April and it's not real unusual around my part of the state.

On the doe, I think that's just its coat changing from winter to summer coat and not a wound. But I could be wrong.

I live on an island with no hunting. I see these changes in the spring. Also , those does beat the ever living crap out of one another from time to time with those hooves.

Good to know that she might make it. My freezer starts getting low in about another month! So it's time to put some bushytails in there.

As said above the doe is just shedding. Not at all uncommon to see bucks still hanging onto one side here in March.
